RESIDENCIES & FUNDING:
CEAC in Xiamen & the Asia New Zealand Foundation are calling for Wellington-based artists to apply for fully-funded 3 month residencies. Apply before April 3.
Red Gate Residency in Beijing is calling for residency directors, coordinators & administrators from other parts of China & South East Asia to apply for one to two week residencies as part of the East x South East Residency Knowledge Exchange. Apply by April 28
4A is calling for early career visual artists who are Australian permanent residents to apply for fully-funded residencies at Shen Shaomin's studio in Beijing. Apply before May 8.
CEAC in Xiamen are calling for creatives from all over the world to apply through Red Gate Residency for a one-month residency in June. Apply before May 15.
am space in Shanghai & the Goethe Institute are calling for German art researchers, academics of related fields and writers up to the age of 40 to apply for a fully-funded six week residency in October & November. Apply before May 31.
IFP + i: project space & the Goethe Institute in Beijing are calling for visual artists from Germany to apply for a 3 month fully-funded residency in September, October & November. Apply before June 1
The Opposite House & Red Gate Residency in Beijing are calling for artists to create a public installation in the 5 star hotel's lobby during a fully-funded residency during the month of August. Apply before June 19
The Sunny Art Centre's The Sunny Art Award is calling artists to submit paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, digital works, ceramics & jewellery to be exhibited in London and go on monthlong residencies in either Beijing, Guangzhou or Macao. Apply before June 20
Spring Workshop in Hong Kong is calling for four artists, designers, dreamers to create interventions in their cylindrical bathrooms. Apply before July 10.
Red Gate Residency & China Residencies (that's us!) are calling for all kinds of creatives from any part of the world to propose projects around the theme of "care" for the 4th Crystal Ruth Bell fully-funded residency in Beijing this winter. Apply before July 17.
Banyan Commune in Guangzou is calling for local and international artists and collectives for fully funded month-long residencies to work on projects visual, participatory, and public engagement projects, including installation, video, sounds, performance, and events. Apply before July 31.
IFP is calling for artists, curators and scholars who are interested in taking part in TETRIS, a two year long-term research & curatorial project. Read the full call & apply anytime.
The Hong Kong Art Gallery Association's Artist Residency Abroad Funding Scheme provides up to HK$15,000 for Hong Kong artists seeking artist residencies abroad. Applications accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly, and artists should apply to their own residency programmes prior to applying.

PAPERS, WORKSHOPS & RESEARCH:
Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong is calling for papers for their symposium taking place in January 2018 titled "It Begins with a Story: Artists, Writers, and Periodicals in Asia". Submit abstracts by April 10.
The London, Asia research award ($10,000 USD) is calling for outlines on "the institutions and institutional histories that are key to shaping a more nuanced understanding of the cultural entanglements between London and Asia across the twentieth and twenty-first centuries." Apply before April 18.
Para Site in Hong Kong is calling for emerging curators, writers, critics, researchers, and other arts professionals from Hong Kong and abroad to participate in their weeklong Workshops for Emerging Curators in October. Apply before May 31.
4A is calling for emerging writers who are Australian permanent residents to apply to travel to the Pacific in September 2017 to realise two publication outcomes. Apply before June 30.
Wing On Wo & Co and Henry Chang are hosting Chinatown Writers Workshop in New York City from September 17 to October 8. Apply by August 1.
FESTIVALS & EXHIBITIONS:
1A Space in Hong Kong is calling for proposals for "廿年回歸前後話 Talkover/Handover 2.0", an exhibition generating critical dialogues and creative works reviewing the changes in Hong Kong’s social and cultural landscape since 1997. Submit by March 28.
I : project space in Beijing is soliciting videos between 2 and 60 seconds about Beijing to show at the opening of their new space in Baitasi. Send videos by April 11.
Shanghai Queer Film Festival's Short Film Competition is accepting submissions. Submit before June 8th.
JOBS & INTERNSHIPS:
Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong is seeking a Head of Research, a Development Assistant, and summer interns.
Turenscape Academy in Beijing & Huangshan, Anhui is seeking its first ever Head and Professor in Architecture and in Landscape Architecture. Both roles involve working as a team to design an entirely new curriculum and to launch post-graduate programmes in each discipline, Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
