Introduction
在蔚蓝广阔海洋里，有一头名为Alice的鲸鱼曾被认为是世界上最孤独的鲸鱼，不仅仅是因为它在被发现时离应在的海域相距半个地球，而是它鸣唱时的声音频率是52Hz，远远高于普通鲸鱼发出声音的15-25Hz。
Alice的歌唱，虽不能传达给同类也无法被解读，但声波讯号表示了Alice的存在。我们听见风的谱奏却也无法抓住这一声音的轨迹，而树叶的摇摆却像乐章五线谱一样记录着风的动作痕迹。虫鸣、鸟啼、流水、落叶、花开，世界上的万物，以自己的频率发出声波，谱奏韵律。人声鼎沸、车水马龙，人类与万物共存，我们的行为所产生的不同声音交织在一起形成视觉之外的另一“画面”。
靠介质传播的声音，介于物与形之中，使之生于万物之动作，又穿梭于世间之缝隙。无法触碰、无法捕捉，却无处不在；它流淌、环绕、充斥在空气里，当我们闭上双眼，仍能靠听觉捕捉到多种信息来感知周遭的环境。声音的产生，代表着背后存在的人、事、物，无论是在实体还是意识层面，声音都与情景交融，展现出一个或多个过程。
相互作用和贯穿的感官神经，让“抽象”的声音成为记忆、感受、情绪的画笔，具有即时反馈性的在被听到的同时唤醒我们的感知和想象，在脑海里描绘出空间和画面。听到声音，即是融入一个声音产生的背景故事中，进而再主观地对情景产生诠释和解读；发声和聆听，即是创造的过程。
本次艺术驻留，P8星球与关注践行建筑可持续发展的远大芯建共同举办，希望发现这些“隐形的声音”和背后的观点与故事，从另一感官出发与世界产生联系，用调动情绪唤醒的方式来呈现环境。我们期待这次艺术驻留能让使用声音作为艺术实践的对象和材料的艺术家们进行交流、在地发声，并创作和展示出具有实验性、互动性、感染性的艺术作品。
Introduction
In the immense solitude of the ocean, a whale called Alice was once thought to be the loneliest whale in the world. Not following the usual baleen whale migratory channels, Alice was found in the sea nearly half a world away from the usual pathway. While others of her kind communicate between 12 and 25Hz, Alice sings at 51.75Hz.
Insects chirp, birds cry, water flows, leaves fall, flowers bloom - everything in the world emits sound waves at its frequency, producing a variety of sounds that intertwine to form a 'picture' other than the visual. As a part of the ecological environment, human behavior also produces different sounds. Sound flows, surrounds, and fills the air, and when we close our eyes, we can still hear the many messages we capture to perceive our surroundings.
Transmitted through a medium, sounds lie between objects and forms, so that it is born in the movement of everything and shuttles through the gaps of the world. It cannot be touched, it cannot be captured, but it is everywhere. it flows, it caresses, it fills the air, and when we close our eyes, we can still hear and capture a variety of information to perceive the environment around us. Sounds, representing the complex contexts, intertwined with circumstance and reveals.
Acting on the sensory nerves, sound becomes a paintbrush for memories, feelings and emotions. It is fed back into our brains instantaneously, simultaneously awakening our perceptions and imaginations, portraying spaces and scenes in our minds. Hearing sound is being involved in the backstory of it and then subjectively interpret the situation. To vocalize and listen is a process of creation.
Co-organized by Planet P8 and Holon, this residency program aims to discover these 'invisible sounds', to connect with the world through another sense, and to present the environment in a way that mobilizes emotional arousal. We expect this program for artists who use sound as an object and material for their artistic practice to communicate, give voice to the ground, to create, experiment and interact.
Eligible Applicants
到全球范围内的疫情防控原因以及声音媒介可实现跨距离交流的特殊性，本次艺术驻留将分为线上和线下两种方式执行。共招募6-8位艺术家，线上和线下各3-4位艺术家。
线下和线上参与的艺术家们在驻留期间将会进行数次交流；线上和线下的驻留艺术家在驻留期间创作的作品都将在驻留结束后，一并以线下展览形式在MoW無用博物馆展出。
我们将提供：
1. 声音创作专家顾问的讲评交流机会；
2. 组织驻留艺术家集体的交流、互评机会；
3. 线下展览的配套支持，协助作品在展览中的呈现；
4. 驻留及展览期间的媒体宣传推广；
5. 根据创作项目的规模大小，提供作品最终在展览中呈现的一笔预算。
艺术家申请资格：
1. 艺术创作中使用到声音作为材料或主题；
2. 有丰富的独立艺术创作经验背景；
3. 不限国籍。
***因疫情防控特殊时期，本次线下驻留我们仅招募在驻留时间开始前已抵达中国大陆境内并结束隔离观察的艺术家，请谅解。
Program Info：
Artist in Residence & Remote Participation:
Considering the travel restrictions of COVID-19 and the particularity of sound media that can spread across distances, the program will be conducted remotely and physically.
We will recruit 3-4artists able to stay and work at PLAN8T，3-4 artists living outside of China who will participate remotely. Artists who work in residence and remotely will be able to communicate and share throughout the residency cycle. Artworks created by artists during their stay will be exhibited in Museum of Waste from 12 September to 31 October.
Eligibility：
1.Sound is required to use as material or subject matter in the creation of art.
2. Strong artistic background and extensive independent art- create an experience.
3. No restriction on nationality
*Due to the special period of COVID-19 precautionary control, for the on-site residency we are only recruiting artists who have arrived in mainland China and finished their quarantine before the start of the residency period, we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Program Fees
同时针对线上和线下两种驻留参与方式，我们将分别提供：
线上:
数条长沙（P8星球所在地）采集的原声片段及背景信息，用于驻留创作需求。
线下:
1. 差旅补贴、驻留期间的住宿及创作空间；
2. 创作经费补贴（2000元/人）、驻留期间创作的技术及部分设备支持。
For both remote and present residency participants, we will offer:

Several original sound clips and background information collected in the city of Changsha (where P8 is located) for creation needs.
For artist work in residence：
1. Travel allowance, accommodation and creative space during the residency.
2. 2000RMB unrestricted stipend for artists' participation in the program, technical and partial equipment support for creative work during the residency.
Additional Information
驻留者职责
· 入选后按要求提交相关资料及一份项目方案，驻留项目结束后，提交一份总结报告，P8将根据具体情况与驻场者合作，组织举办展览、讲座或编撰出版物等。
· 创作形式不限，成果需为可实体展览及保存的艺术作品，建筑师作品应有完整设计图纸，电子档案及作品模型。
· 艺术家驻留期间作品归P8所有，P8可选择性保留驻留艺术家作品展示权。
Responsibility of Recipients
· Submit documents and residency proposal as requested and achieve the project you mentioned in your proposal when the residency ends.
· We accept all forms of art/architecture work, the outcome of your project needs to be able to exhibit and collect, architects are required to submit the Architectural drawing, model and its digital file
· During the residency: Communicate and coordinate with P8 team; attend the events and exhibitions organized by P8 for this residency.
· Put in a report to summarise your residency experience.
