JOB DESCRIPTION:
China Residencies is seeking a dedicated Residency Coordinator to work with the artists across all our programs (currently, the Mediated Residency & Fellowship and a forthcoming Digital Diasporas project.) This six month paid part-time position takes place remotely starting from June 1st 2021 and will provide hands-on and theoretical training in every aspect of running an international media arts residency program.
The Residency Coordinator will:
Work closely with artists to support their works-in-progress
Build resources and share knowledge to support the resident artists & filmmakers
Liaise with partner organizations in China, Australia, Canada & the US
Help curate and organize workshops, virtual open studios, and online screenings
Learn the ins-and-outs of fiscal sponsorship & budgeting & fundraising for creative projects
Learn the many facets of running an artist residency
Salary + Benefits:
$26/hour for one to two days per week {up to 16 hours per week}
5 days paid vacation + health insurance reimbursement

Since this position is entirely remote, you’ll need:
Your own computer & a solid internet connection
To be comfortable on video chat and in remote meetings
Nice to have skills:
Passion for cultural creative exchange
Experience and interest working in film, documentary, and VR
Community organizing and event planning
Grant writing, fundraising & crowdfunding
Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (reading / writing / speaking)
Familiarity with Slack, WeChat, email, spreadsheets & Google Suite, VPNs
You can be anywhere in the world, this is a fully remote opportunity.Please note that the majority of our residents and staff live between GMT +8 and GMT -5 time zones.
