RESIDENCIES + FUNDING: 

The Chronus Art Center in Shanghai is calling for new media artists working with Artificial Intelligence to apply for the Research and Creation Fellowship around the theme of < i-Learn: The algorithmic delusion >. Apply before April 30th.

For our 3rd Residency Knowledge Exchange, we're calling for residency staff from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea & Mongolia to apply for a one to three week residency at Untitled in Jinze, outside of Shanghai. Apply before May 8th.

4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art is calling for Australian artists to apply for their monthlong fully-funded Beijing Studio Program in September & October, and for a curators intensive in Melbourne in August. Apply before May 8th.

The Goethe Institute in Beijing is calling for Germany-based performing artists to apply for a three months residency at for visual artists at i: project space (deadline June 1, 2018). Apply here.

The Guangdong Times Museum's Banyan Commune Residency is accepting applications for their fully-funded participatory community-based residency. Apply before June 30th.

We're calling for projects around food our 5th Crystal Ruth Bell Residency at Red Gate. Apply before July 17.

The Advance Art Museum in Changsha is calling for artists. Apply before July 30.

The Hong Kong Art Gallery Association's Artist Residency Abroad Funding Scheme provides up to HK$15,000 for Hong Kong artists seeking artist residencies abroad. Applications accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly, and artists should apply to their own residency programmes prior to applying.

The Asian Arts Initiative in Philadelphia seeks proposals for guest curators working with contemporary and Asian American community-based projects, providing $1,000 honorarium and $1,500 in artists fees, travel costs and other expenses.


SCHOLARSHIPS, RESEARCH & CONFERENCES:

The Museum 2050 conference, to be held on June 9-10 at the Long Museum in Shanghai, is calling for abstract submissions on the theme “Looking to new institutional models: China’s cultural landscape by mid century.” Submit by April 1st.

The China Academy of Art in Hangzhou is granting 10 full scholarships for US citizens for its IMFA program, apply by April 15th.
